What is a Temperance Bar?
A type of bar that does not serve alcoholic beverages.
In the late 19th and 20th centuries, a number of such bars were established in Britain. Originally, these advocated a moderate approach to life, especially concerning the consumption of alcohol. - Wikipedia
Browne's Temperance bar (BTB) started back in 2013 as a vintage inspired mobile refreshments bar serving traditional soda, shaved ice and confectionery from old trunks at various festivals, markets and events around the country. We have recently added speciality hot beverages to the business, which has enabled us to become an all year round business. Book us now for your event!
Browne's Temperance Bar was not set up to preach abstinence from alcohol, rather like the definition of the word 'Temperance' describes, that we believe everything in moderation. The bar is an alternative for both consumers of alcohol and teetotallers alike, carrying forward a tradition from an important part of English history.
Read some of our wedding testimonials :-
"We hired BTB to provide refreshments at our wedding, and can honestly say we were so impressed with the service. They were an absolute dream! Set up without any bother, the stall looked amazing and the service was super friendly and chatty. All our guests absolutely loved it!
We would definitely have them back for parties in the future, and would highly recommend to anyone who is after something a little different for their event!" - Sarah & Danny Green, Woodlands Hotel Leeds
"We loved having you be part of our magical day at the Quaker Meeting House in Osmotherley" - Leti Hawthorn
"We were so very lucky to work with BTB for our wedding at Middleton Lodge. We had a 1920's theme and quite a lot of guests who were children who couldn't partake in the champagne tower or buckets of beer that we were serving. Steve was very accommodating, making sure that all of the guests - including our two young boys were catered for. The bar was a hit with everyone! The feedback from everyone was outstanding - definitely a talking point at our wedding! - Emma Nelson
